You hear a lot about Amazon DEforestation, but not much about REforestation! At our field stations we are working to grow native high quality timber, medicinal and fruit trees for reforestation of degraded areas, and to promote community-level reforestation activities. These trees sequester carbon, protect and create wildlife habitat, support biodiversity, and serve as living bank accounts for rural communities. A small investment now can result in a lifetime of benefits for the Amazon.

Health In Harmony partners with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities living in and around the Manombo Forest in Southern Madagascar to implement community-designed solutions to halt deforestation. Manombo is shrinking rapidly under the pressures of slash-and-burn agriculture, logging, and hunting, which are rooted in food insecurity and a lack of healthcare and other livelihoods in the region. Communities requested support for healthcare, education, and training in regenerative livelihoods.

Green Map NYC published its first map highlighting climate change in 2006. Today, with climate urgency transforming our priorities, Green Map System seeks your support for a variety of replicable local climate health action projects, on the map, in the media and on the streets.

In 2018, we teamed up with local nonprofit CONAPAC to launch an innovative program to provide families living in rural Amazon river areas with fruit trees and training in their planting and care. Assistance with marketing efforts are also underway so that harvest will provide both nutrition and revenue for families whose income is often less than fifty U.S. dollars a month. The project will promote conservation efforts by planting more trees in areas that are vulnerable to deforestation.

If there's one thing that the pandemic has taught us, it's how interdependent we all are, and how what happens in one place can affect others, thousands of miles away. Take rainforests. Home to half of the biodiversity on earth, they store carbon, produce oxygen and play a crucial role in regulating the water cycle and stabilizing weather patterns over huge areas. Global warming demands that we take urgent action to protect and restore the ecosystems on which all our lives depend, starting now.

Malhan Area is located on the west of Almahweet governorate in the Republic of Yemen. It was declared as a protected area due to its variety of fauna & flora ,its density of plant and ager trees, its endangered animals like Arabian leopards, and its rare birds. It has very strange and glamour land scape.

Deforestation is a global issue that is having increasingly larger effects on the world every day. It contributes 10% to climate change and global warming, which is why a large number of our efforts are going towards preserving large forest areas as well as reforesting the areas that have been effected to try a minimise the effects. By doing this we can combat land degradation, minimise natural disasters and preserve critical natural habitats.

We will promote the growing of trees in 15 upland villages in order to improve food and nutrition access to upland dwellers as well as improve biodiversity, improve the condition of the soil and so that local communities will be able to enjoy the multiple benefits of improved biodiversity.

We are working to rewild vital orangutan habitat that has been destroyed by illegal oil palm plantations within the Gunung Leuser National Park. We're seeing some really exciting results, with lots of wildlife starting to return to the restored areas of forest - including orangutans, elephants, sun bears, gibbons, leopard cats and many endangered bird species. We work with the local people, empowering, educating and encouraging them to become guardians of their forests and wildlife.

Our mission is to improve the living conditions of underprivileged indigenous populations in the Sierra Tarahumara, northern Mexico. Indigenous population in the Sierra do not have access to water, electricity nor basic services. We provide families with the supplies to build a rainwater collection system, and train them so that they acquire the technical abilities to install and maintain their own system. We empower them to be responsible for their access to water and improve their health.

The vast, pristine forests of northern Peru are home to an incredible array of rare wildlife. But this spectacular diversity - along with the indigenous Cocama people that live there - are under serious threat due to intense climate fluctuations that cause severe, unpredictable floods and droughts. Working with the Cocama, Earthwatchers collect data on the health of the ecosystem to help improve their traditional hunting and fishing activities and to develop climate change mitigation strategies.

Deforestation, soil desertification, and the excessive use of agrochemicals are some of the main negative impacts on pollinators, affecting their decline and mortality of these species that contribute to the natural cycle of pollination.The pollinator garden at Miguel Aleman Restoration Site, will provide a balanced habitat, and resources for pollinators. This will also significantly benefit food production in the Mexicali Valley.
