Help Liberian Kids Complete Their Education
Story
The Liberian education system is still recovering from the Ebola Epidemic and a 14-year civil war. According to USAID, only 44% of primary age students attend primary school. At this dismal rate, the caliber of future leaders is at risk. We are helping to address this need by providing strategically needed resources - scholarships, uniforms, school supplies, school furniture, classrooms. This makes a huge difference - helping to keep kids in school and enhancing the quality of education.
Impact
This project ensuring that underprivileged children get a destiny-changing education. It is transforming lives and providing opportunities for growth, and contribution to national development. By upgrading the quality of education offered, we are helping to transform communities and the entire nation. Investing in children's education is critical for a nation's development. By aiding education we are laying the groundwork for future economic development and the stability of Liberian families.
Challenge
Recent crises in Liberia devastated the nation in general and the education system in particular. This has resulted in dire situations such as poverty, barren classrooms, inadequate school facilities, and insufficient resources. Families can't afford to send their kids to school. School facilities are in bad repair, with an insufficient number of desks and chairs. Learning is far from optimal. This fragile situation has long-term consequences and is in need of urgent and immediate attention.
